Scout Troop 400, sponsored by SS Peter & Paul, congratulates Sam Lafko on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. Sam began Scouting with Troop 509 and when that troop disbanded, he sought to continue his
career and transferred to Troop 400. He held key leadership positions within the Troop and earned a total of thirty-one merit badges. For his Eagle Service Project, Sam planned and designed the construction of a
new information kiosk at the Anna Mae Bacon Bird Sanctuary. Working in coordination with the Village Environmental Commission, Sam acquired donations more than sufficient to cover the substantial cost
of the project and led a large team of volunteer workers in the construction. An avid outdoorsman, Sam particularly enjoys riding snowmobile and his ATV. He is the son of Jonathan and Karen Lafko and will graduate from Hamburg High School in June.
