1st Annual SSPP School Lawn Fete

Transforming Our School Campus Into Fun for All

During the last weekend in July, the SSPP campus was transformed into a vibrant, community-centric space for the 1st ever annual Sts. Peter & Paul Lawn Fete. The transformation began months ago with meticulous planning, involving parents, school and parish administration, teachers, even students, each contributing their unique skills and ideas.

Creating the Atmosphere: The grounds were divided into thematic zones. The heart of the festival was the entertainment tent, where live bands entertained crowds with a perfectly selected blend of pop music, oldies, and everything in between. Food trucks offered a delectable selection with something for everyone in the whole family. Games and entertainment zones were set up, with bouncy castles and games of chance captivating children and adults alike. Craft stalls lined the pathways, showcasing the creativity of local artisans.

Community Engagement: To ensure a strong community turnout, a comprehensive marketing strategy was employed. Local media outlets were engaged for event promotion, and social media platforms were leveraged to create excitement and anticipation. The school sent out invitations to neighboring residents, inviting them to be a part of the festivities.

Student Involvement: Students were at the core of the event’s success. They volunteered in various roles, from manning game stalls to assisting with food service. This not only instilled a sense of responsibility but also fostered a strong sense of community within the school.

Fundraising Initiatives: The lawn fete was more than just two fun-filled days; it was a significant fundraising event for Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic School. A variety of fundraising activities were incorporated, the proceeds of which are earmarked for school improvement projects.

The event concluded with a huge sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, as organizers and festival go-ers alike witnessed the community come together for two days of fun, food, and fellowship, while also contributing to a worthy cause. The lawn fete was more than just an event; it was a celebration of the school’s spirit, a platform to connect with the community, and a successful fundraising initiative.
