Reconciliation

As much as we strive to follow in Jesus’ footsteps and live as he taught us, in our human weakness we inevitably fail. In Confession we come with a contrite heart and express to Jesus our faults and failings. Jesus told his disciples in John’s Gospel, “Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained. (20:23)” Built as we are on apostolic foundations, the ordained priest is the vehicle through whom Jesus acts. When the priest absolves, it is really Jesus who is forgiving.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated every Saturday in Church from 1:00-1:45 p.m. If you would like to make an appointment with one of our priests, please call the rectory and ask when a priest is available.
