Early Learning
Our Pre-K program takes a very hands-on approach to learning. Our safe and comfortable environment coupled with a variety of interactive activities makes school fun and inspires a love of learning that will last a lifetime!
In ELA, we focus on a variety of pre-reading and pre-writing skills, and children work their way up to reading and writing their names, and also several sight words. We strive to instill a love of reading and writing by exposing the children to a wide variety of print options in and around the classroom. In Math, we focus on number recognition, 1:1 correspondence, and also basic patterns, shapes, and sorting. The focus in Social Studies is teaching children about their own neighborhoods and the various roles within a community. We get hands on with Science, completing various experiments throughout the year that help the children investigate and understand more about the world around them. We also do several different engineering projects where the children design and build objects with a variety of different materials. Lastly, one of the most important aspects of Pre-K is learning important social skills, so we provide a variety of whole group and small group interaction throughout the course of each day, which are geared towards helping build these skills.
